Trader Joe's Haul


I love Trader Joe's. I love the food, the atmosphere, everything. It is such a fun place to shop and the employees are always so friendly and helpful. It is great especially if you are on a certain diet, like gluten- free or dairy- free. They do a great job labeling their products and making you aware. The samples aren't too bad either ;)

I took some pictures from my latest Trader Joe's trip to share some of the staples I get from there and some of my favorites.



My parents began buying these specifically for their Joy Bauer diet because of the calorie and fiber count, but I read the ingredients and they contain no dairy! A lot of English muffins I have seen contain dairy, so I was excited to see these don't. Plus they are whole wheat and perfect toasted with peanut butter!

Both soups were very good and both vegetarian. I fast from meat for religious reasons on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year and these are a great lunch!

Almonds! I don't think I go a day without eating a handful of almonds. Trader Joe's is a great place to buy almonds because they have all different kinds, roasted, salted, unsalted, raw, etc. These dry, roasted, and unsalted almonds, are great! I love that you can buy them in the 100 calories packs. They are already measured and packaged for you. I always grab them for an afternoon snack at work.

Although these are the only ones pictured, Trader Joe's has a ton of dried fruits! I love these dried cranberries. I eat them plain as a snack, on a salad, or my mom's favorite- mixed in vanilla greek yogurt. They are also great for making your own trail mix!

My dad has gotten me addicted to drinking sparkling water. I love the feeling of drinking pop, but not actually drinking it. These natural sparkling waters are really good! I love all of the variety of flavors they have! On a side note, Trader Joe's has a large variety of drinks. From coconut water to smoothie drinks, they have it! At a good price too!

These are soooo good!!! Dried fruit bars with no sugar added! I have loved all the flavors I have tried. I pair one of these with a pack of almonds for a great afternoon snack at work.

I LOVE Larabars! Being able to understand every ingredient in the bar is really reassuring. I am able to tell exactly what I am putting in my body. The Peanut Butter Cookie is my favorite (and it's dairy- free!). I also have enjoyed the Cashew Cookie, Blueberry Muffin, Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, and Key Lime Pie. If you are a Larabar newbie, they may look and smell weird upon opening, but take a bite and you'll be in L-O-V-E! There are so many different flavors to try. Many are dairy- free... yay!

Flax seeds are a great way to incorporate omega-3s into your diet as well as fiber. I add mine to my yogurt (it gives it a nice crunch) and also to smoothies. Don't forget to refrigerate after opening them. I don't know what happens if you leave it out for a long amount of time...and I really don't want to know ;) 

This was an interesting and exciting find. Hummus salad dressing. Most creamy salad dressings contain dairy, and this one doesn't! I'm not going to lie, it doesn't taste exactly like hummus, but it is still pretty good!

I don't like coconuts or coconut water... but I like these? This blueberry coconut milk yogurt is really good, especially for those who eat dairy- free. I add flax seed to mine and it is always great. I also buy Trader Joe's Soy Yogurt, which is also good. I have noticed their yogurt to be much cheaper than other grocery stores.

Sushi! I was on my own for dinner the night I went to Trader Joe's so I picked up this sushi. It was assorted California Rolls all made with brown rice. I was happy to see that it was made with brown rice, since many sushi rolls are made with white rice, and that is too many simple carbs in one meal. That night I ate one of each (4 pieces) and the next day I had the other 4 pieces for lunch! Sooo good! I can't wait to try more of their sushi rolls.



Hummus has become a staple in my diet. I use it as an alternative to mayo, butter, etc. Roasted Red Pepper is my favorite. I have to tell myself not to eat the whole container... or I will. Yes, it's that good. And not even a year ago, I wouldn't even go near hummus.

I was very surprised with these cookies. My mom wanted me to find a dessert that I would be able to eat after our family dinner the next night. I came across these and bought them believing I would be the only one eating them. I thought no one else would like cookies that were free of the 8 common allergens, like milk and gluten. Well, I was wrong! Everyone loved them! They are vegan and very soft and yummy! I would definitely recommend!

These are some of the cereals I buy from Trader Joe's. I always struggle with buying cereal. Between the sugar and calorie count, I am always turned away by so many cereals. The Kashi cereal was higher in calories, but recommended by the Tone It Up girls, so I figured I would try it. It was really good!! The Barbara's Shredded Spoonfuls are really good as well. Both my dad and I eat this one regularly. Pour some in a bowl and add in some almond milk...mmmmmm :)
One of my favorite dinners when I am home. Turkey burgers topped with cooked baby bella mushrooms. I don't even need a bun with this meal! It is perfect without! My parents sprinkle a little bit of cheese on their turkey burger while cooking, while I skip it.

These frozen roasted bell peppers and onions paired with turkey sausage is a great go-to meal!

I buy lots of frozen fruit for my smoothies. I don't think I've ever eaten a mango (I don't know why come to think of it), but these mango chunks are great in a smoothie! The strawberries are also perfect. I also buy the mixed berry blend. These are great, especially when the fruit is not in season, because these are frozen at their peak and nothing is added to them.
Did you see my post on naturally flavoring water? Here it is if you missed it. This is the mint I use for it. Trader Joe's also has a large variety of different herbs, like basil.


And for the finale... DARK CHOCOLATE! I was never really a dark chocolate fan until eating these. Now I am a dark chocolate addict. 72% seems to be perfect for me and is the perfect post- dinner treat. I eat three squares from these minibars and it is the perfect amount.

Our closest one is, unfortunately, about 20 minutes away, so I can't go in and pick a few things up every few days. When we go, we plan what we need for the next 1-2 weeks and do a major haul, like this one. I would so love a Trader Joe's within walking distance of my house. I'll keep wishing...
