Good morning! I am back in East Lansing after a wonderful weekend in Boston with my family. I have a recap coming at you, hopefully tomorrow, but until then I have a full day of classes and meetings, so I wanted to share a quick HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout that you can complete today! The last few workouts I have posted on the blog have been HIIT workouts, which have become my latest obsession. I have been incorporating Tone It Up’s HIIT the Beach into my workout routine weekly, but when I don’t have time for that full routine but still want something quick and sweaty, I do this workout.
I guarantee you by the end of this workout your heart will be jumping and you will feel GREAT. My favorite part about HIIT is when I am done (ha!) and feel the after effects ALL DAY LONG. My heart rate is happy and I can feel the work I have done to my full body. If there is one thing I have learned in my fitness journey, it is how important HIIT is to a workout routine. Yeah going out for a 3 mile run is awesome, but completing a HIIT workout just as often as a run is guaranteed to burn fat and leave you feeling toned.
