Happy Thursday! This week has been crazy so far and coming back from a busy weekend was no help, so I think today is a good day for a lil thinking out loud. My brain is feeling like mush, so how about I just share all the thoughts going on right now… sound good? Awesome.
So this weekend. It was a blast! I went downtown to Detroit on Saturday for a Greek night with my friends, which was much needed and a ton of fun, then turned around Sunday for the Greek Independence Day Parade. This was the first year ever I did not march in it, but instead I stood along the parade route and cheered everyone on. It was different being on the other side of the parade, but fun too. So while this past weekend was fun and all, I got zero work done until Sunday night. Well, scratch that I did get a paper written on Friday night, but other than that I sat down Sunday night to lesson plan for the week and get everything together for the week. Ugh, I don’t like going into a full work week without feeling all put together, but sometimes it happens.
Tuesday night I had CPR/ First Aid training for my teaching certification after school and decided to pick something up along the way to eat at training. I drove past a Plum Market and thought it would be a good choice to pick up something pre-made. Well, omg did I hit the jackpot or what?! How am I just seeing how amazing this store is?! I wasn’t in there for long, but I was there long enough to already want to go back and just wander the aisles. It reminded me of a Whole Foods, but a little smaller I guess. They had a ton of pre-made salads so I picked one up, but not without eyeing a ton of other goodies I want to pick up next time I go. Spring break is next week so I am thinking I may need to take a trip over there.
And the salad? Well, we ended up getting pizza at the training (I took it with a big group of my teacher friends) and decided to save the salad to take for lunch today. I guess I will have to report back on it later on!
About a month ago I filed my taxes and whenever I do and get my refund back I always like to treat myself to something I have been wanting. Nothing big or elaborate (trust me, my tax refund isn’t that much), just something I have had my eye on. So this year I decided to treat myself to two pairs of Stance socks. Anyone else obsessed with these socks?? I had the hardest time deciding which patterns I wanted since I loved them all, but finally narrowed it down to the Recovery Crew and the Speed of Light. I never thought I would wear socks like these, but I absolutely love running in them.
You all know I love me some podcasts — I listen to them while blogging, running (usually just long runs), and driving to my internship. I have a list of favorites, but one of the newest I started listening to is the Ali on the Run Show podcast. I love it! I had listened to Ali previously on Lindsey’s podcast and was so excited when she decided to start her own. She has great conversations with her guests, with topics that range from serious to funny. I listen to her podcast a lot on long runs or while foam rolling after a workout. She has such a fun personality and I cannot wait to see her podcast grow!
Is anyone else finding regular TV a bit lame lately?? It feels like all my favorite shows are re-runs often and I am just not digging any new shows out right now (besides Designated Survivor). I have been turning to Netflix a bit more than regular TV lately and finally made my way through Gilmore Girls. It was so good! I immediately started watching the revival and it is alright. It is cool to see the cast back and years older, but it is definitely not the same, but I am still watching it. I am almost halfway through.
I also started watching Santa Clarita Diet recently and I am hooked. It is a show I never thought I would watch, but my brother reccomended it and I was in need of a show like that so I started watching it. And I got hooked on it quick! It is one of those shows I put on when I don’t want to have to think as I watch and I can put it on for an episode or two before bed.
Guess who is *this close* to being on spring break?! This girl right here! Tomorrow at 2:30 I will officially be on spring break and I could not be more excited. I have some fun plans ahead with my mom and friends, but I also have to get on the job search too. I have a big job fair on Monday (cue the nerves!) and from there I will start applying for jobs for the fall. Besides the job fair and a few other plans, I plan on getting to work on the blog a bit and relaxing. I am in need of some serious R&R!
Once I get back from spring break my internship is quickly coming to an end. It is crazy how few teaching days I have left after spring break before I say good bye to my mentor, students, and school I am at right now. I have a few more papers and projects to finish up my grad classes, but other than that, I am just making it through to the finish line in sight. <— I am actually laughing at the fact that I wrote that considering I am running a half marathon the weekend I finish my internship. Literal finish line right there.
- Anyone have a Plum Market near you? What are your favorites there?
- What TV/ Netflix shows are you watching lately?
